About IdlePal
IdlePal is made by Initiums, a small studio that builds Mac App Store apps, and it is not out yet. It is a Mac app for the minutes your coding agent is working. Pip, a black pet, lives in the MacBook notch. When Claude Code, Cursor or Codex starts a job, Pip wakes up and a panel drops down with a daily number puzzle and an idle game. When the agent finishes, the panel tucks itself away.
Who makes IdlePal
A game designer makes the games, and the Initiums team builds the app, the agent integrations and this website. Write to us at hello@idlepal.com; a person reads every email.
Where IdlePal stands today
- Status: in development. It is not on the Mac App Store yet.
- Planned price: free, with a one-time $9.99 unlock through the Mac App Store. No subscription and no account.
- Requirements: macOS 14 or later. Pip sits in the notch; on Macs without one, the panel drops from the top centre of the screen.
- Integrations: the Claude Code plugin and the Cursor and Codex installers go live on GitHub the day the app does.
- Playable now: the daily number puzzle and a preview of the idle game run in your browser.
How we write and check our guides
Our guides cover the tools IdlePal works with: Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Every command, setting name and hook event in them is checked against the official documentation, and each guide lists the pages it relied on under Sources. The date at the top of a guide is the last time we checked it. When a tool changes, we update the guide and that date. If you find something wrong, email hello@idlepal.com and we will fix it.
We only describe what IdlePal actually does. Features that are not built yet are not on this site.
Independence
IdlePal is not affiliated with Anthropic, Anysphere or OpenAI. Claude Code, Cursor and Codex are their owners' trademarks. Nobody pays us to mention a tool.
