Privacy

Updated October 19, 2026

The short version: IdlePal runs on your Mac. There's no account, no ads, and nothing about your code or your agents ever leaves your computer.

The app

  • Your games and your pet are saved on your Mac, in the app's own sandboxed folder.
  • Agent hooks (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) send IdlePal one signal at a time: started, finished or needs you, plus a session ID. They run a local open -g "idlepal://…" command. Nothing goes over the network, and the hooks never see your prompts, files or output.
  • Purchases go through Apple. We never see your payment details.
  • Game Center is optional. If you sign in, Apple handles your scores and leaderboards under Apple's privacy policy.
  • One optional question. The first time you open the panel, IdlePal asks where you heard about it. If you answer, we receive that one answer with a random install ID, with no name, email or device identifier attached. Skip it and nothing is sent.

This website

  • This site has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no tracking cookies. If we add visit counting later, it will be cookieless and named on this page.
  • If you join the waitlist, your email is stored by Buttondown, our newsletter service. We use it only to tell you when IdlePal is out, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Ask us to delete it any time.
  • The daily puzzle and the idle preview save your progress in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device.
